The delegation headed by Hayk Konjoryan is on a working visit to the USA

Members of the RA NA Armenia-USA Friendship Group: Head of the Friendship Group, Head of the NA "Civil Contract” faction Hayk Konjoryan, Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Sargis Khandanyan, NA MPs Vahagn Aleksanyan, Hripsime Grigoryan, Irina Gasparyan, RA Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in the USA On May 10, Ambassador Lilit Makunts met with Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, former Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, Frank Pallon, Co-Chairman of the Armenian Affairs Committee of the Congress, members of the House of Representatives Rob Menendez, Debbie Dingley, and Jen Shchekovski.

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi fondly remembered her visit to Armenia, reaffirming their support for Armenia's democracy, sovereignty and territorial integrity. During the meeting, the head of the Armenia-US friendship group, Hayk Konjoryan, emphasized the existing strategic dialogue between the Republic of Armenia and the United States, emphasized the support of the United States to the democratic reforms implemented in Armenia. The parties mutually emphasized the existing high level of inter-parliamentary cooperation and agreed to continue political consultations and mutual visits.

During the meeting, the current security situation around Armenia, the illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor, as well as the ongoing peace process with Azerbaijan, existing challenges and ways to solve them were discussed. The Armenian parliamentarians emphasized that Armenia is committed to the peace agenda, the goal of which is the establishment of stable and long-term peace in the region. The colleagues of the House of Representatives reaffirmed their readiness to further support the Republic of Armenia in various formats.
