"Only the peace agreement will make it possible to really solve all other issues;" Colonna
Regarding the regional situation and Armenia-Azerbaijan relations, France and the European Union's only goal is to restore peace and trust.
As the correspondent of Armenpress reports, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, Catherine Colonna, said this in a conversation with journalists in Jermuk.
"Only the peace agreement will allow to solve all other issues arising from this situation. That is why the EU sent an observation mission, which is a civilian mission, not an armed mission. The purpose of the mission is to record the situation on the ground, which allows the EU countries to have direct, first-hand evidence of the local situation. In our opinion, the mission is beneficial, and thanks to the work of this mission, we will be able to move forward on the path of peace," said the French Foreign Minister.
Catherine Colona noted that it was vital for her to visit Jermuk to, on the one hand, show her support for the EU observation mission, which is doing important work, and on the other hand, see the situation on the ground with her own eyes. "Naturally, we learn about the situation based on documents, but seeing it with our own eyes is also very important, and with this visit, we once again reaffirm our support and cooperation to the friendly Armenian people," said the minister.
She says you understand everything better when you see it with your own eyes. "Seeing the progress on these new positions, we understand the situation better," she said.
