RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan accused Azerbaijan of escalating the situation in the region, pointing to the illegal installation of a checkpoint in the Lachin corridor, "If until now the Lachin Corridor was closed under the pretext of a false environmental action, now it has been officially closed by Azerbaijan. This is a provocative step aimed at increasing tension in the region and deepening the humanitarian crisis established in Nagorno-Karabakh."
He said that the international community assessed the installation of the checkpoint. According to Pashinyan, Azerbaijan's goal is to carry out ethnic cleansing and genocide of Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, "The installation of a checkpoint in the Lachin corridor is a gross violation of point 6 of the tripartite statement of November 9, 2020."
Pashinyan stressed that Azerbaijan violated all points of the tripartite declaration during this period.
