On April 25, RA Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan received the delegation led by Loucas Fourlas, member of the European Parliament and chairman of the Friendship Group with Armenia.
During the meeting, Paruyr Hovhannisyan and Loucas Fourlas referred to the security situation in the South Caucasus region, the importance of the deployment of the EU observation mission, Azerbaijan's illegal blocking of the Lachin Corridor and new encroachments on the sovereign territory of Armenia, as well as the need for the immediate release of Armenian prisoners of war in Azerbaijani captivity.
Several issues of the RA-EU partnership agenda were discussed, including inter-parliamentary cooperation. Paruyr Hovhannisyan highly appreciated the moral position of the European Parliament in matters of primary importance for the Armenian side, which was reflected in the relevant resolutions and reports.
