On April 25, the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, received India's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Armenia, Nilakshi Saha Sinha. The Speaker of the RA National Assembly congratulated the Ambassador on assuming a diplomatic mission in the Republic of Armenia, wishing her success in her responsible position.
The parties stated that Armenian-Indian relations are higher than ever and are interested in deepening cooperation in all fields.
RA NA Speaker asked the Ambassador to convey his greetings to the Honorable Speaker of the Indian Lok Sabha, Om Birla, with whom they had a meaningful conversation a month ago within the framework of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly. Alen Simonyan also recalled the practical activity of the Armenia-India friendship group of the RA NA, expressing hope that a parliamentary friendship group will be formed in the Indian parliament as well.
The positive cooperation between Armenia and India on international platforms was recorded, and attention was drawn to the mutual trust presented in international organizations on vital issues.
The region, Armenia, and the Lachin Corridor crisis were discussed.
Expressing gratitude for the reception, the Ambassador of India said her readiness to keep in constant contact with the National Assembly within the framework of her mission and contribute to the development of parliamentary diplomacy.
