"Yes, there is the necessary optimism to build the future," Nikol Pashinyan

At the extraordinary session of the National Assembly, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan presented the report on the results of the 2022 implementation of the RA government's plan.

According to him, any future project can only be implemented with a sufficient supply of optimism, "And so, the key question is the following: in these stormy times, is there a necessary supply of optimism in Armenia not only to talk about the future, to plan but also to build and implement that future?" My answer is unequivocal and unequivocal. Despite all the difficulties and complications, there is the necessary optimism to talk about the future in Armenia, to plan and build it, I am sure of it."

He noted that the news, public discussions, and the international situation need to give more confidence. Still, despite all that, building around 55,000 apartments is taking place in the country, "This is about 6% of the housing fund ever created," stressed Nikol Pashinyan, adding that housing construction in the third republic has never had such volumes.

He also presented the number of beneficiaries of the mortgage interest refund from income tax: 29,197 people, which exceeded the 2021 figure, "I often think about these numbers, trying to understand what they mean. In the conditions of border instability, security vulnerability, and collapse of the world order, tens of thousands of citizens of Armenia are buying apartments, and thousands of investors are building apartments. Why do they behave like that? What does this behavior mean? In my estimation, it means only one thing. People believed in the government's peace agenda; there would be peace and the opportunity to live happily and create in their homeland. Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense to buy an apartment, let alone build one."
