On April 10, RA First Deputy Minister of High-tech Industry Gevorg Mantashyan received Zhongyuan Chao, Director of China Technology Transfer Center of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States, and Yulia Bogdanova, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Center, who are in Armenia on a working visit.
Gevorg Mantashyan welcomed the delegation's visit to the BTA Ministry and expressed readiness to discuss the ways and prospects of cooperation with the center. The First Deputy Minister presented the directions of the Ministry of BTA, referred to as the "Engineering City" project.
Zhongyuan Zhao, in his turn, presented the center's functions and said that it is an official platform aimed at expanding cooperation between SCO countries in scientific, technical, commercial, economic, educational, and cultural fields. It also provides opportunities for joint scientific research, implementation of international exchange programs, holding innovative competitions, joint use of scientific equipment, and other options.
The possibilities of practical cooperation in materials science, robotics, semiconductor production, artificial intelligence, and organizing mutual visits were discussed during the meeting.
The Chinese Center for Technology Transfer of SCO Member States was established at the initiative of the Government of the People's Republic of China in 2020, with the support of the SCO Secretariat, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China. The center has representative offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Wuhan, Qingdao, Tashkent, Moscow, and Astana.
