In Germany, Alen Simonyan spoke about the need to apply sanctions against Azerbaijan

The delegation, led by the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, met with Dr. Matthias Rösler, President of the Landtag of the Federal Republic of Germany's Saxony region in Dresden. The meeting emphasized the necessity of deepening inter-parliamentary cooperation and the distribution of opportunities for developing parliamentary diplomacy. Concrete proposals were made in this direction, particularly the exchange of experience between the commissions dealing with financial and budgetary issues of the National Assembly of Armenia and the Landtag of Saxony.

The German colleague noted that due to various positions, he had the opportunity to study facts related to the history and culture of Armenia. He emphasized that he is ready to exchange accumulated experience on issues about democracy, adding that they are also prepared to get acquainted with the enlightening experience of Armenia in the fields of educational and cultural, and academic education.

At the request of the President of the Landtag, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, conveyed details about the security issues facing the region and Armenia, presenting the aspirations of Azerbaijan towards the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, and the multipolar problems caused by the Lachin crisis. He reminded that more than two years after signing the tripartite statement on November 9, 2020, Azerbaijan still refuses to return all Armenian prisoners of war, hostages, and arrested persons. RA NA Speaker spoke about the need to apply sanctions against Azerbaijan and expected the appropriate responses from international partners.

At the end of the meeting, Alen Simonyan invited Matthias Rösler to Armenia.
