On March 24-26, RA NA Deputy Speaker Hakob Arshakyan participated in the youth election competition and summary event organized by the Pan Armenian Youth Football Association (PAYFA) in Los Angeles, USA.
As a result of the association's work last year, tangible results were recorded: 3 of the eight youths who came to Armenia were included in the Armenian national team under the age of 14. A total of 12 children were included in the Armenian national teams in different age groups.
Dozens of our compatriots living abroad dream of contributing to the development of Armenian football.
During the event, the professional coaching staff selects the best and sends them to Armenia to participate in the selection process of different age groups and international tournaments. With the association's efforts, six more young people from the USA, Russia, and Germany will leave for Armenia to participate in gatherings and international tournaments until the end of April.
The events are held in cooperation with the Football Federation of Armenia.
During the evening, world champion Yuri Dzhorkaef, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and FFA president Armen Melikbekyan sent video messages. National team football player Yura Movsisyan, SADA Systems president Hovig Safoyan, Arpinet LLC executive director Armen Muradyan, entrepreneurs, coaches who contributed to the development of Armenian football, football players, and football fans took part in the event.
During his short visit to the USA, Hakob Arshakyan also met with The Armenian Society of fellows council members, scientists, and entrepreneurs. He also discussed the prospects of science and technology development in Armenia.
Meetings were also held with the head of the Los Angeles City Council, Paul Krekorian, and community representatives, and a wide range of issues of mutual interest was discussed.
