US Embassy on the Institute of Guarantor in a Peace Treaty

RA high-ranking officials have repeatedly stated that Armenia wants to include a guarantor institution in the Armenian-Azerbaijani peace treaty. Radar Armenia applied to the US Embassy in Armenia, trying to find out what position the United States has on this issue and whether it is ready to assume the role of guarantor of the peace treaty.

The US Embassy in RA responded, "The United States remains committed to promoting a peaceful, democratic, and prosperous future for the South Caucasus region. Direct dialogue is key to resolving issues and achieving lasting peace. We continue to engage in a bilateral format, with partners, and within multilateral organizations, to facilitate discussions between Armenia and Azerbaijan so that these countries can achieve lasting, sustainable, and strong peace. The conflict cannot have a military solution, and the resolution of disputes through force is unacceptable."
