"There is a process, and it is not standing still. Therefore, it is wrong to call it a dead end," stated NA Speaker Alen Simonyan, referring to the negotiations with Azerbaijan. According to Simonyan, Azerbaijan will hardly refrain from resorting to another provocation, despite this circumstance. Speaking about the possibility of preventing possible military aggression, Alen Simonyan noted. "Regardless of everything, RA raises RA's defense daily. Even if there are the most optimistic negotiations, we will engage and increase the country's defense capability."
Referring to the statement of Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, that attempts to leave the fate of Nagorno-Karabakh to the responsibility of third countries are left to the conscience of the RA authorities; he noted, "We have accepted the Russian proposals that have been made so far, and the problem was the disagreement of the Azerbaijani side. I think the Russian Foreign Ministry should be more attentive to the reaction of the Azerbaijani side because RA always has, in 99% of cases, given its consent to Russian proposals. Unfortunately, Mrs. Zakharova does not address the reaction of Azerbaijan."
Alen Simonyan stated that Azerbaijan still needs to confirm the mandate of Russian peacekeepers.
