The humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh continues to be tense. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at the government session.
According to him, at the same time, we see specific actions by Azerbaijan aimed at the military escalation in the line of contact with Nagorno-Karabakh. Recalling the killing of three Artsakh police officers due to Azeri provocation in the Lachin Corridor, Pashinyan recorded, "In the message released on March 6, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation clearly stated that the instigator of the incident is the Azerbaijani side. In the message of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, it is also stated that proceedings are being conducted with the participation of the representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan to find out the details of the incident. In this regard, the fact that the murders of NK police officers took place in the corridor of Lachin should be given a special evaluation."
The Prime Minister also noted a triple violation of the statement of November 9, 2020, "Not only the ceasefire, not only the Nagorno-Karabakh contact line but also the 5-km zone of the Lachin Corridor has been violated."
According to Pashinyan, the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan sees preparations for ethnic cleansing and genocide against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh. According to him, this is also recorded in the UN International Court of Justice's decision: "I consider it important and urgent that RA takes measures to launch international mechanisms for the prevention of genocides. We are talking, in particular, about the mechanisms provided in the framework of the United Nations. In this regard, I have given relevant instructions to the Foreign Ministry."
