"Armenian-Turkish agreements can be expected on some issues;" Turkologist

RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan met with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu in Turkey.

In a conversation with Radar Armenia, Turkologist Nelly Minasya said that all processes, including this visit, should be considered in the context of the procedures before the earthquake. According to his observation, there was a particular dialogue between Armenia and Turkey before this disaster, and the earthquake is an opportunity to activate this dialogue.

"Armenia offered help, and the Turkish side accepted it, and yesterday we learned that the foreign minister is going to Turkey. During this visit, we should not expect something groundbreaking to change Armenian-Turkish relations. In any case, we heard the main demands from the Turkish leadership. But we can expect agreements on some issues," Nelly Minasyan said.

According to the Turkish expert, these agreements may refer to the special regime of the border, problems related to direct cargo transportation, or issues related to tourism. Still, other developments contributing to the steps associated with regulating relations are not considered.
