Artur Hovhannisyan, secretary of the "Civil Contract" faction of the National Assembly, referred to the decision to deploy EU observers on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border during parliamentary briefings.
According to him, the steps taken by the authorities are based on the RA state's interests, "The authorities of the Republic of Armenia act in the interests of the state of the Republic of Armenia; the EU observation mission is a civilian mission; it is not directed against anyone; it is here to carry out an absolute observation mission, to record the situation that exists on the borders of the Republic of Armenia, please do not see geopolitical developments here."
He also assured.,"Thanks to its diplomatic efforts, Armenia agreed with EU partners to extend the mission; this is solely in the interests of Armenia."
