President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbas Badakhshan Zohouri to Armenia.

Welcoming the ambassador, President Khachaturyan congratulated on the 44th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution and sent his best wishes to the people of Iran on behalf of the ambassador.

"Today's meeting is due to a perfect occasion. The 44th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution is being celebrated.

I congratulate you, our partners, and the people of Iran and send my best wishes. I wish you success and, most importantly, peace.

Our centuries-long relationship tells us that we have treated each other very friendly and respectfully and are obliged to continue these traditions. Our two countries cooperate closely, and we look to the future with the same attitude to expand our cooperation and make our countries more presentable. It will be for the benefit of our peoples; it will contribute to strengthening our countries and increasing well-being," said the president.

Ambassador Abbas Badakhsha thanked Zohouri for the reception and congratulations and expressed that the Islamic Revolution positively impacted the neighboring states.

During the meeting, ideas were exchanged about giving new momentum to developing Armenian-Iranian multi-layered cooperation and fully realizing the existing potential. Implementing joint projects in high-tech mining and constructing communication channels and other areas providing vast opportunities for interaction was critical.

Ambassador Zohouri noted with satisfaction that despite the past year's difficulties, the Armenian-Iranian trade and economic turnover had grown significantly, and this pace should be maintained and developed. In his speech, the ambassador also referred to the positive trends in developing closer relations and cooperation between the Armenian and Iranian analytical centers.

During the conversation, both sides emphasized the need to activate high-level contacts.
