Varuzhan Nersesyan presented the dire humanitarian situation in Nagorno-Karabakh to the UK Minister of European Affairs

On February 7, RA Ambassador to the UK Varuzhan Nersesyan met with the Minister of European Affairs of the UK Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Development Office, Leo Docherty.

Ambassador Nersesyan presented to Minister Doherty the severe humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh due to Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin Corridor. In this context, the ambassador emphasized the need for clear steps by the international community to restore unhindered traffic through the Lachin Corridor.

The interlocutors also discussed the normalization process of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The ambassador emphasized the harmful effect of Azerbaijan's fundamentalist approach, which continues to undermine these efforts.

Ambassador Nersesyan and Minister Doherty emphasized the close cooperation between Armenia and the United Kingdom on bilateral and multilateral platforms. In this regard, I highlighted the importance of high-level mutual visits.

Ambassador Nersesyan also emphasized the importance of signing the Comprehensive and Extended Partnership Agreement between Armenia and Great Britain, laying the foundation for strengthening bilateral relations in various fields of mutual interest. Several regional and international security issues were also discussed during the meeting.
