Narek Mkrtchyan and the Italian ambassador discussed the directions of cooperation in the field of labor and social protection
Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan received Italian Ambassador to Armenia Alfonso Di Rizzo.
During the meeting, the directions of cooperation in the field of labor and social protection were discussed; in particular, the importance of implementation of necessary works and exchange of experience was emphasized in the process of improving services provided to vulnerable groups (persons with disabilities, the elderly, children).
Referring to the reforms planned by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Minister Mkrtchyan noted that the priorities and opportunities for cooperation in the field of social protection of the two countries were also discussed with the Minister of Disability Issues of the Republic of Italy, Erika Stefani, within the framework of her visit to Rome in 2022. During the meeting, several issues related to the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities, the provision of relevant services, and the development and implementation of mechanisms for realizing their labor rights were also discussed. The ministers agreed to sign a memorandum on cooperation in social protection.
Ambassador Di Rizzo noted that the Italian Embassy in Armenia is also actively working to regulate cooperation in social protection between the two countries.
