On January 16, RA Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan met with the Secretary General of the United Nations Office, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Ghada Fathi Waly in Vienna.
The RA Foreign Minister noted that Armenia attaches great importance to expanding cooperation with the UN system and specialized agencies. During the meeting, Minister Mirzoyan referred to the reforms carried out by the RA government, including in the anti-corruption, judicial, and police sectors.
The parties discussed the prospects of cooperation and implementation of joint programs in the fight against corruption and economic crimes, illegal drug trafficking, organized crime, the use of foreign mercenary fighters, and terrorism. In this regard, the implementation of the Roadmap of cooperation between Armenia and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, signed last year, was highlighted.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia also presented to the interlocutor the positions of Armenia regarding several regional issues.
