On January 12, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Jean Asselborn.
Ararat Mirzoyan drew his colleague's attention to the humanitarian crisis caused by Azerbaijan's blocking of the only road connecting Nagorno Karabakh to Armenia and the outside world, the Lachin Corridor, on false environmental grounds. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia noted that Azerbaijan grossly violates the provisions of the statement of November 9, 2020, and international humanitarian law.
Minister Mirzoyan emphasized that the Azerbaijani side aims to subject the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh to ethnic cleansing with its actions, highlighting the clear calls and targeted steps of the international community in this context.
During the telephone conversation, the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Luxembourg referred to the perspectives of the development of both bilateral and Armenia-EU relations.
