The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Georgia discussed regional security issues

On January 12, within the framework of the session of the intergovernmental commission on Armenian-Georgian economic cooperation, the meeting of RA Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Georgian Foreign Minister Ilya Darchiashvili took place.

Ararat Mirzoyan and Ilia Darchiashvili noted with satisfaction the high level of Armenian-Georgian relations based on the centuries-old friendship and shared values of the two peoples and exchanged thoughts on further expansion and deepening of cooperation.

The parties referred to the activities carried out to strengthen trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and Georgia, highlighting the activities of the Armenian-Georgian intergovernmental commission.

Several regional security and stability issues were also discussed in detail during the meeting.

Ararat Mirzoyan presented to his Georgian counterpart the daily deteriorating humanitarian situation in Nagorno Karabakh due to Azerbaijan's blocking of the Lachin Corridor since December 12, 2022.
