On January 10, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan spoke with OSCE Chairman-in-Office, North Macedonian Foreign Minister Buyer Osmani. Ararat Mirzoyan congratulated his colleague on taking over the OSCE chairmanship, expressing his willingness to actively cooperate in the protection and promotion of the fundamental principles of the organization.
During the telephone conversation, several issues of the regional security agenda were touched upon.
Minister Mirzoyan drew the interlocutor's attention to the humanitarian crisis caused by Azerbaijan's blocking of the Lachin Corridor. It was emphasized that Azerbaijan's actions grossly violate the tripartite declaration of November 9, 2020, and international humanitarian law. RA Foreign Minister noted that Azerbaijan's steps aim to subject 120 thousand of Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh to ethnic cleansing.
In the context of preventing the humanitarian disaster in Nagorno-Karabakh, Foreign Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the need for specific steps by relevant regional and international structures, including the OSCE.
