“We are ready to sign the peace document if it meets the interests of Armenia,” Nikol Pashinyan

RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has assured that Armenia is ready to sign the peace document if it corresponds to RA interests.

According to him: "If there is a paper on the table that we are going to sign, it will not be bad, but good news, because it means that we finally managed to reach a point where we believe that Armenia's interests are protected. Now the problem is not only the content of the paper but the mechanism of implementing that content. We have a paper signed on November 9, but the fact is that it is not being implemented today."

Pashinyan also noted that an agreement can be signed, but if there are no mechanisms for the implementation of its provisions, there may be a new military escalation immediately after the signing, “The text will not be perfect, let's all understand it from the beginning, but it can correspond to the balanced interests of Armenia. But if there are no mechanisms for the application and implementation of that paper, we can sign a document called a "peace treaty" and a week later get a new war or escalation.”

According to the Prime Minister, it is not possible to have peace by begging, peace must be earned, “We can have peace if we are able to form tolerant relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey, develop relations with Iran and Georgia."
