According to the official Washington assessment, the blocking Lachin Corridor hinders the peace process and undermines international trust. In response to the "Azatutyun" request, the US Embassy in Armenia reports that the United States remains "concerned about the disruption of access to the Lachin Corridor and the humanitarian consequences of the situation."
"We call for full restoration of free movement through the corridor. Negotiations are the only way forward in all issues," the embassy informs.
To the question of whether the USA is taking any steps in the direction of the humanitarian crisis created in Artsakh, is it possible to provide humanitarian aid to Artsakh, the embassy answered: "The US Agency for International Development responds to the needs of displaced persons in Armenia, by the requirements of the RA government."
