Illegal blockade of Lachin Corridor by Adbejan continues for 25 days. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at the start of the executive session today, noting that the act of unblocking the corridor, which caused a humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh, has provoked a comprehensive international response.
The Prime Minister of Armenia emphasized that although there is an international response, Azerbaijan needs to take action to settle the issue.
"By closing the Lachin Corridor, Azerbaijan grossly violates 2020 the direct obligation assumed by the tripartite declaration of November 9, which raises serious questions about the contractual capacity of official Baku," Nikol Pashinyan stated, noting that Azerbaijan is trying to attribute to Armenia the practice of not fulfilling its obligations.
According to Nikol Pashinyan, the reason for closing the Lachin Corridor is that NK Armenians continue to live in their homeland, and the international community has begun to more clearly record Azerbaijan's visible policy of subjecting NK Armenians to ethnic cleansing and genocide.
"We expect more substantive steps from the international community, including the permanent member of the UN Security Council, Russia, whose peacekeeping troops are stationed in Nagorno-Karabakh and keeping the Lachin Strait under its control is its direct obligation, according to the tripartite statement of November 9, 2020," Pashinyan said.
