Is the decision to create a foreign intelligence service in Armenia related to the recent visit of Richard Moore, the head of the secret intelligence service of Great Britain, to Yerevan?
In response to the question of Gegham Nazaryan, a member of the National Assembly "Armenia" faction, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan stated that the laws adopted in Armenia could not be related to any foreign official, "We discussed the urgency at the government session; the urgency arose before that. And connecting the internal processes in Armenia with the officials of some other countries is not very logical in modern Armenia."
Armen Grigoryan also said they studied international experience while writing the project, "But mainly, our starting point was what Armenia needs, and the law fully reflects our needs."
