Access to Nagorno Karabakh is restricted, which affects US support; US Deputy Secretary of State (VIDEO)

US Deputy Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Karen Donfried referred to the US policy in Nagorno Karabakh. The official spoke about this at the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations hearings regarding the US policy in the Caucasus.

US congresswoman Susan Wilde told the official that her Armenian constituents in Pennsylvania are worried about the fate of Artsakh Armenians and asked for clarification about the size and accounting of aid planned for Nagorno-Karabakh to the US, whether the support was provided to the recipients.

"Access to Nagorno-Karabakh is restricted, which affects the US's ability to implement some assistance programs. Despite these restrictions, the US has tried to help those affected by the conflict, many of whom are in Armenia. So most of our humanitarian aid of 21 million dollars goes to those efforts," said Karen Donfried.
