In his speech at the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly, RA NA Speaker Alen Simonyan stated that Armenia has never talked about leaving the CSTO but is concerned about the organization's behavior. According to Simonyan, the impression is that the territory of Armenia does not have equal strategic importance for the CSTO if much attention is paid to the Eastern European region and Central Asia.
"Armenia has never talked about leaving the CSTO, but Yerevan is concerned about the organization's attitude towards Armenia," said Alen Simonyan, adding, "Azerbaijan violates the ceasefire regime every day, as a result of which we suffer casualties." Certain passivity of the CSTO and the official statements of our allies caused the public sentiments regarding the organization to undergo significant changes in Armenia."
