The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Portugal considered establishing business relations between the two countries

On December 1, within the framework of the OSCE Ministerial Forum in Lodz, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, had a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Portugal, Joao Gomes Cravinho.

Emphasizing that this year marks the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Armenia and Portugal, the RA Foreign Minister highly appreciated the Armenian-Portuguese friendly ties and partnership relations.

The holding of political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries and the organization of high-level mutual visits were highlighted. The parties considered the possibilities of establishing business relations between the two countries.

Several international and regional issues were also touched upon during the meeting. In this context, Minister Mirzoyan emphasized the deployment of the EU observation mission in Armenia.

The RA Foreign Minister presented to his Portuguese counterpart the ongoing developments in relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh, and reaffirmed the position of the Armenian side that Azerbaijan is obliged to withdraw its troops from the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, to stop the extremist and militant rhetoric.
