RA Minister of Economic and Technological Development Gnel Sanosyan received the Deputy Executive Secretary of the UN European Economic Commission (EEC) Dmitri Mariyasin. The minister emphasized multi-level cooperation with the UN European Economic Commission (EEC) and noted that there are further opportunities to expand the potential of collaboration.
Dmitry Mariyasin, for his part, emphasized bilateral cooperation in the fields of transport and energy, noting that 13 of the 59 projects implemented within the framework of the UN EEC are implemented in Armenia. Mariyasin also mentioned the need to join the international legal acts regulating the sector. Minister Sanosyan emphasized that the legislative framework is currently being harmonized with EU standards, so it is necessary to involve international experts in this process.
The interlocutors also discussed several issues regarding cooperation in the energy sector, partially referring to energy efficiency issues. The Deputy Executive Secretary of the UN European Economic Commission (EEC) also presented details on the opportunities for cooperation in the mining field and thanked for the practical cooperation.
Thoughts were also exchanged on issues of deepening cooperation and involvement of the Ministry in several programs within the framework of the UNECE.
