- CSTO Secretary General stated that the only thing that could not be achieved at the CSTO session was a consolidated assessment of the created situation. In your opinion, what will the review of CSTO give to Armenia? Is it a guarantee that the Azerbaijani troops will leave the territory of Armenia?
- First, there was and is no CSTO, there is Russia, and the CSTO is just a veil to create an illusion of collective security. In other words, what any CSTO official says should be understood as Russia's speaking. Can Russia make an honest assessment of the fact that, according to documents, the troops of its strategic partner Azerbaijan are in Armenia and demand that they be withdrawn? It is impossible. Russia explained very clearly through Lukashenko's mouth and threatened that Armenia should not wait for a guarantee; on the contrary, it should sign peace with Azerbaijan as soon as possible. Otherwise, it will be worse for Armenia.
- The parties are talking about a possible escalation. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia announced that the President of Azerbaijan is taking responsibility for the potential escalation from this chapter. At the same time, almost every day, the Azerbaijani side violates the ceasefire in Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. Can we say Azerbaijan is not restrained even by the presence of EU observers at the border? In this context, what is the probability of a new escalation?
- The probability of escalation is relatively high, almost inevitable. With your permission, I will repeat what I have warned many times over the years - Russia is playing the scenario of 1920 against us when it tries to impose its unconditional will and regional project on Armenia through the Turkish side.
- Problems have arisen in connection with the Western platform of negotiations. Aliyev refused to meet with Pashinyan if the French president also participated. Does that platform go out of the game, and the process goes entirely under the control of the Russian Federation?
- The absence of a western platform for settling the Karabakh issue and the sole management of the problem is Russia's dream and policy. Aliyev obeyed Putin's will by refusing the meeting because, as Lukashenko said, "he is their man." At the moment, Aliyev is no less Russian than Pashinyan. However, I am sure that Aliyev will make a sharp turn to the West at the most convenient moment when he will have squeezed the last straw out of Russia. This is how the Turks profitably played with Bolshevik Russia and Nazi Germany. Aliyev is trying to repeat Atatürk and Inonu.
- Actually, there is one month to the end of the year. Before that, there was talk of signing a peace treaty by the end of the year. Can we say that signing the document before the end of the year is impossible, or do you still see a chance?
- No document will be signed until the end of the year if Russia and Azerbaijan do not impose it on Armenia due to a new war, as they did in 1920. on December 2, Turkey attacked internationally recognized Armenia on the one hand and Russia on the other.
