Within the framework of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and India, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, together with the Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences, organized the first international conference entitled "Armenia-India: new incentives for millennial relations" from November 27 to 29.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of RA Mnatsakan Safaryan, President of RA NAS, Academician Ashot Saghyan, Director General of Eurasian Department of Indian MFA Saranjit Singh, Director of Institute of Oriental Studies of RA NAS Robert Ghazaryan made a welcome speech at the event.
The speakers of the conference were the Ambassador of Armenia to India, Yuri Babakhanyan, the First Deputy Minister of High Technologies of the Republic of Armenia, Gevorg Mantashyan, the professor of the Center of Armenian Studies named after Narekatsi Peter Cowin, Doctor of International Relations, the first Ambassador of Armenia to India Armen Bayburdyan, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, professor, advisor to the director of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia Ruben Safrastyan, former Ambassador of India to Armenia Rina Pandey, President of the Research Forum under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India Sunjoy Joshi, representative of the "Vivekananda" Scientific Research Foundation RK Sohni, experts from Armenia, as well as India and the USA.
In his speech, RA Deputy Foreign Minister Mnatsakan Safaryan, in particular, noted. "The deepening and promotion of comprehensive relations with India are one of Armenia's foreign policy priorities. Recently, active work has been done in the defense sector of both countries, international transport and communication, tourism, and other fields.
At the end of the conference, the representatives of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the RA NAS and the "Vivekananda" scientific research foundation signed a memorandum on cooperation.
