The concentration of nitrogen dioxide in Yerevan's atmospheric air is increasing. Ministry of Environment

The RA Ministry of Environment reported that although the annual average concentration of nitrogen dioxide has not exceeded the maximum allowable concentration (MAC) over the last 5 years, there is an increasing concentration trend. 

In 2021, the annual average concentration of nitrogen dioxide in the atmospheric air of the capital was 0.027 mg/m3.

- 1.7 times compared to 2017,
- 1.5 times compared to 2018,
- 1.7 times compared to 2019,
- 1.2 times compared to 2020.

The maximum daily concentration of nitrogen dioxide in 2021 was observed on August 18 and was 0.910 mg/m3, 22.7 times higher than the OEL.
In recent years, the amounts of nitrogen oxides emitted into the atmosphere from mobile and stationary sources have been changing almost similarly.
