EU representatives will continue to take steps toward solving the problems.

On November 7 and 8, in the Kingdom of Belgium (Brussels), the head of the department of investigation of significant cases, Rafael Vardanyan, and the head of the department of ensuring international inquiries, Sergey Tairyan, of the Military Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee, participated in the RA-EU Human Rights Dialogue and Justice, Freedom and at the 12th sessions of the Armenia-EU subcommittee on security issues.

During the 12th session of the dialogue on human rights, Rafael Vardanyan presented the factual data obtained during the preliminary investigation of the criminal proceedings on the acts of aggression carried out by Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia in September 2022: the occupation of parts, the cases of deliberate, purposeful targeting and shelling of peaceful settlements, civilians recorded cases of murder, extrajudicial executions of prisoners of war, torture, the humiliation of the bodies of female service members, displacement of civilians, crimes against peace and security of humanity carried out by the military-political leadership of the Republic of Azerbaijan and servicemen.

Rafael Vardanyan, the head of the Especially Important Cases Investigation Department of the General Military Investigation Department, also spoke about the search for 203 service members and civilians whose whereabouts are still unknown as a result of the aggressive war unleashed and waged by the military and political leadership of Azerbaijan on September 27, 2020, in the areas under the control of the Azerbaijani service members. The Head of the International Inquiry Department of the Investigative Committee, Sergey Tairyan, presented information on the indicators of some criminal proceedings in progress in the Committee in 2022, as well as referred to the actions carried out in the direction of finding out the objective reality through the relevant proceedings.

At the 12th session of the Armenia-EU Subcommittee on Justice, Freedom and Security held under the co-chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, Sergey Tairyan referred to the issues included in the agenda regarding the jurisdiction of the RA Investigative Committee and presented comprehensive information on the provision of requests received in connection with the provision of legal assistance in criminal proceedings in Armenia. as well as on the implementation of the Budapest Convention on cybercrimes and the fight against crime in the field of high technology and human trafficking, cybercrimes.

The representatives of the European Union have undertaken to ensure a continuous course of measures aimed at strengthening and developing the capabilities of the law enforcement bodies of the Republic of Armenia.
