Nikol Pashinyan responded to Ilham Aliyev's statements (VIDEO)

RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan referred to the recent statements of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Shushi at the cabinet meeting.

According to the Prime Minister. "Ilham Aliyev's statements once again prove that the Azerbaijani authorities' geopolitical ambitions continue to threaten the security and stability of the South Caucasus and the wider region. That speech, full of unaddressed insults addressed to the international community and aimed at RA, where the President of Azerbaijan tries to accuse RA and our government of not fulfilling the agreements and obligations, proves the diametrically opposite. Moreover, Aliyev's statements were heard on the day after the meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Washington through the mediation of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and discussions on a possible peace treaty when the delegations of the parties had not even managed to return to their capitals.

Nikol Pashinyan stated that in that speech, the leadership of Azerbaijan grossly violated the written agreement recorded in the tripartite statement adopted in Sochi to refrain from using force and the threat of using energy. Contrary to the declarations signed in Prague and Sochi, Aliyev speaks about his ambitions for the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, with an apparent motive to terrorize the civilian population with the threatening use of several settlements and other names of the Republic of Armenia.

Pashinyan stated that "violations of statements and agreements made by Azerbaijan in tripartite and other formats are chronic."

He noted that in 2020 In December, Azerbaijan illegally occupied Khtsaberd and Hin Tagher settlements and adjacent areas of Nagorno-Karabakh, contrary to the tripartite statement of November 9. Azerbaijan carried out such an occupation in 2022. in March, he invaded Parukh, the zone of responsibility of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Nagorno-Karabakh. "Azerbaijan violates the ceasefire almost every day in 2020 as well. On the line of contact established by the tripartite declaration of November 9, simultaneously declaring that NK does not exist. This claim is a gross violation of the trilateral order of November 9, 2020. Also, the name of Nagorno-Karabakh is signed four times in the famous document signed by Azerbaijan."

According to Pashinyan, Azerbaijan has not taken steps to start a visual dialogue with the representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians for the international community. "Aliyev not only threatens but also prepares the genocide of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh. This intention is also expressed in the comments of the President of Azerbaijan about the terms of the deployment of the Russian peacekeeping force in Nagorno-Karabakh, which in turn grossly violate at least three of the declarations adopted in the tripartite format."
