On November 9, Yaël Braun-Pivet, the Speaker of the French National Assembly, received the Deputy Speaker of the RA National Assembly, Hakob Arshakyan, who is in Paris on a working visit. 

The Deputy Chairman of the RA National Assembly expressed his gratitude for the warm reception, expressing gratitude for France's exceptional solidarity and support towards Armenia and the Armenian people, who are facing complex challenges. He was pleased to emphasize France's response at the highest state level to Azerbaijan's military aggression against the internationally recognized sovereign territory of Armenia and its important commitment toward a peaceful resolution.

Hakob Arshakyan also highly appreciated inter-parliamentary cooperation, one of the critical areas of privileged Armenian-French relations based on centuries-old friendship. In that context, he particularly valued the active involvement of the French National Assembly and French parliamentarians in alerting the international community about security threats against Armenia and the Armenian people and taking active international steps to defend Armenia and the Armenian people.

Reference was made to the September Azerbaijani aggression, its geopolitical and humanitarian consequences, the occupational and aggressive policy of the Azerbaijani authorities, and the negotiation process. The international mediating role towards the establishment of lasting peace in the region was mutually emphasized, including the mediating efforts of the EU under the leadership of the French President and the activity of the EU observation capacity mission to assess the border situation of Armenia.

From the perspective of restoring the security environment and establishing stable peace in the region, Hakob Arshakyan emphasized strengthening Armenia's defense capabilities with international support as a guarantee of restraining Azerbaijani ambitions against the internationally recognized sovereign territory of Armenia.

At the end of the meeting, the President of the French National Assembly, Yael Bron-Pivet, reaffirmed the solidarity of the National Assembly and all of France with Armenia and the Armenian people. NA Deputy Hakob Arshakyan invited the French National Assembly Speaker to Armenia on an official visit on behalf of RA National Assembly Speaker Alain Simonyan.
