"Direct dialogue is the key to settling Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and peace between Baku and Yerevan." Blinken

A meeting between Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeihun Bayramov is underway in Washington. The RA MFA reports this.

TASS agency reported details of the meeting. According to the source, at the beginning of the meeting, Blinken announced that the United States is in favor of a direct dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia, considering it the key to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and peace between Baku and Yerevan.

"The United States is committed to peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Direct dialogue is the best way to have lasting peace truly. And we are delighted to support it," said the head of American diplomacy. At the same time, he assured that "the USA strongly supports the sovereignty and territorial independence of both Armenia and Azerbaijan."

According to Blinken, it is expected to continue the productive discussions that the three parties started this fall within the framework of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York and developed in subsequent meetings.
