- On the initiative of the American side, a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan and US Secretary of State Blinken will take place in Washington today. What are your expectations from this meeting?
- Work will be done on the text of the peace treaty in Washington. it has already been officially announced. Armenia will present its answers or reactions regarding the points of the draft peace treaty forwarded by Azerbaijan. And as a result of those proposals and discussions, the text of that peace agreement will be drawn up in the coming weeks.
- In fact, Nikol Pashinyan announced that the proposals of the peace treaty of Russia are acceptable for us. Does this mean abandoning the Washington version?
- Armenia has not given up Washington's moderation. Armenia has declared that the Russian version is acceptable for it, but we know that the Russian version is not acceptable for Baku. And as long as Russia does not have the opportunity to impose its own ideas on Baku, it is clear that Yerevan will negotiate in other formats as well. In that sense, I don't think that any difficulties can arise in connection with the Russian side, because the Russian Federation itself is not able to promote its own ideas.
- There has been tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border in recent days. the sides a sign of equality, isn't Russia weakening Armenia's position in the negotiations?
- This question is difficult to answer. At the moment, Russia is using diplomatic language, which is an accepted practice. Especially when no new escalation has taken place, it is difficult to blame any of the parties.
