The President of the Republic, Vahagn Khachaturyan, received John Gallagher, Ambassador Extraordinary, and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Armenia.
Welcoming the guest, the President congratulated the ambassador on the election of the Prime Minister of Great Britain and expressed hope that the formation of the government would contribute to the establishment of stability in the internal political life of the United Kingdom.
Ambassador Gallagher thanked for the reception and emphasized that it was an honor to be hosted at the residence of the President of the Republic.
During the meeting, the topics on the agenda of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh shortly, were discussed.
At the ambassador's request, the President of the Rep,ublic presented Armenia's expectations and positions from the conference, as well as emphasized that the Republic of Armenia is committed to the implementation of the agreements signed with the European Union and international partners, as well as the obligations assumed by the "Paris Convention". President Vahagn Khachaturyan emphasized that currently the climate changes and the opposition to them know no boundaries and all countries should make their contribution in resisting them.
Ambassador Gallagher emphasized that Great Britain is always ready to support Armenia in implementing reforms in the "Green Economy," modernization of agriculture and related fields, both in the exchange of experience and implementation of practical programs.
Both sides agreed to continue cooperation and close contacts.
