RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, while presenting the draft of the 2023 state budget, spoke about the expenses of the defense sector. According to him, the significant increase in those expenses and the planned reforms in the Armed Forces do not contradict the peace plan.
Pashinyan noted that "the Republic of Armenia will consistently advance the declared peace agenda."
He presented details of the tripartite meeting held in Sochi, "Can we record as a result of that meeting that a step was taken in the direction of the implementation of the peace agenda?" I can say yes. And this was a beneficial and essential meeting."
Pashinyan noted that many important questions were raised at the meeting. He pointed out that before the meeting, a question was asked whether RA is on the path to the settlement of relations with Azerbaijan and the payment of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem in the most optimal possible way available in the field. "The policy pursued and the policy of the officials involved in the negotiations correspond to the interests of RA and Nagorno-Karabakh. One of the essential features of the meeting in Sochi was the answer to this question."
