The interlocutor of Radar Armenia is Norayr Norikyan, the chairman of the "Artar Hayastan" party.
-Yesterday NKR National Assembly issued a statement, then a rally was held in Stepanakert, and the demands of Artsakh Armenians were presented. How will you interpret what happened?
- It would be perfect if the core of the struggle for self-determination of Artsakh citizens was formulated with the rally held in Nagorno-Karabakh, the action aimed at increasing the level of the subjectivity of Artsakh was fixed, and the ideological values at the basis of the 30-year struggle for self-determination of the people of Artsakh were emphasized. Of course, if this process highlights the subjectivity of Artsakh and its crystallization, it is good. But it was only noted there that Artsakh has some expectations from Armenia if Armenia is ready to support and assist in the realization of the right to self-determination of the people of Artsakh.
- In other words, do you consider yesterday's statements unrealistic?
- You know, I want to understand. What political problem was solved yesterday? Does Artsakh disagree with the processes under the Russian axis or with the West? The voice of Artsakh should have been very clearly fixed there, that the problem of Artsakh is not only a security problem but, first of all, a struggle for self-determination. Are they now thinking about asserting the irrevocable condition of Artsakh's self-determination to the end?
- In your opinion, an apparent demand was not formulated yesterday?
- No political thought was formulated in that regard. Of course, such rhetoric was used in the context of desires, turbulent stages of our history, or the desire for unity. However, we are in a dire process concerning our region's future. What do we expect from the international community, what does the international community expect, and how do the geopolitical centers see the solution to the issue? Are they compatible with our interests, or are they opposed? If we accept the Russian proposals unilaterally, doesn't it turn out that we close the curtains in front of the West or vice versa? Will we be able to reconcile the conflicting interests of the geopolitical centers, at least in our case, so as not to remain under the rubble of that conflict? What will one-sided orientation give us? I am deeply convinced that it will bring evil.
- In this context, on November 5, the parliamentary opposition announced holding another rally. What do you say about this?
- For three years, the same opposition has been holding the same rallies with the same theme, rhetoric, and emphasis. Let's create a political environment aimed at creating a qualitatively new plan, which will be based on the actual capabilities of Armenia and the real sentiments of the international community. We cannot go by our ideas and talk to the world's influential people that, you know what, Artsakh is a native Armenian territory. It won't be talked about. We need to understand whether we have potential or not. Otherwise, go to the square and say the same things all the time; what is the result? The result of their activity is zero.
