The use of force or the threat of force undermines processes to establish peace and security
RA NA Speaker Alen Simonyan summarized the two-day work at the briefing following the CIS IPA plenary session. He noted that he presented his colleagues with detailed information about the situation in the South Caucasus region, detailing the episodes related to the September armed aggression of Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia. Alen Simonyan emphasized that in 2022, Azerbaijan's military attack of September 13 was carried out in the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, and the internationally recognized borders of Armenia were violated.
"We believe that the use of force or the threat of force disrupts the processes in the region to establish peace and security in the South Caucasus. The political assessment of the situation, which our partners will present, is also important for Armenia," said Alen Simonyan.
According to the head of the RA Parliament, cooperation within the framework of inter-parliamentary organizations is essential for the RA National Assembly. RA NA MPs are represented in all ten CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly standing committees. The Speaker of the National Assembly assured that the Armenian delegation would actively participate in the joint work of the CIS IPA in the future, aimed at the modernization of the legislation and cooperation in the humanitarian and cultural spheres.
