"Talking about the Armenian side and not seeing the elephant sitting in the room is a one-sided approach." Kochinyan

"When the Russian president announces that the Armenian leadership was offered to give the five regions and go on the settlement path, he does not say the continuation." In a conversation with Radar Armenia, political scientist Areg Kochinyan said, referring to the statements made by Russian President V. Putin at the "Valday" club about Armenia yesterday.

According to him, the continuation is that the leadership of Armenia agreed, expecting certain compromises from Azerbaijan, which did not happen.

"After that, when he says that the leadership of Armenia was offered to follow the path of peace, he does not continue that the leadership of Armenia agreed to it, expecting certain concessions from the Azerbaijani side, which he did not receive. When Putin talks about the fact that there is no status for Artsakh in the Western packages, he does not continue that in the package, even though they are going to leave the issue of the status of Artsakh for later; Azerbaijan does not agree to that either," the political scientist emphasized. According to Kochinyan, he has not seen any desire for Russia is trying to solve this issue.

According to Kochinyan's observation, talking about the Armenian side and not seeing the elephant in the room, not seeing Azerbaijan's lack of desire to settle the issue, is, to put it mildly, a one-sided approach and has nothing to do with reality.

Commenting on today's tweet by the Prime Minister of Armenia, where he reaffirmed his readiness to establish interstate relations with Azerbaijan on the principles proposed by Russia, the political scientist said: Pashinyan's statement means that it is not the Armenian side that has opposed the points and proposals raised by the Russian President. "The Armenian side did not object to that proposal; Azerbaijan did. If the Russian side wants to talk about its proposals, it would be right if it could agree on the relevant points of its proposal with Azerbaijan and then talk about having a proposal. Because there is a proposal to which we agree, Azerbaijan does not agree, but, for some reason, the Russian president speaks from Armenia."
