The National Assembly started the regular session today, in which the parliamentary opposition did not participate again.
Radar Armenia tried to find out from the NA opposition factions what they would do if they did not participate in the NA sessions.
Gegham Nazarya, deputy of the National Assembly "Hayastan" faction, said that the opposition is in the parliament, but not participating in the sessions is a different matter.
To the question: what does the parliamentary opposition do if it does not participate in the NA sessions, Nazaryan answered: they have meetings with the people, go on regional visits, send many written questions to the government, monitor what laws are passed, try to understand: what is happening, they organize discussions outside the parliament.
Observing that Ishkhan Saghatelyan was talking about an active struggle since September, but that activity is not visible, Gegham Nazaryan said that before taking any action, any force should think about whether it is a coincidence or not. "Our pressure on this administration will be constant because it is in the interests of our country," said Gegham Nazaryan, informing that the process of expressing no confidence in the Prime Minister is still on their schedule.
Tigran Abrahamyan, the secretary of the NA "Pativ Unem" faction, also said that parliamentary work is participating in the plenary session and other functions, from work in international structures to mandate powers. "I am on working visits to combat positions and border sites after the Azerbaijani aggression; I also coordinate the work with Artsakh," Abrahamyan said.
Arpi Davoyan, deputy of the ruling "CivilContract" faction, is not sure that the representatives of the parliamentary opposition meet the citizens. According to her, one of the priorities of the work of a member of the National Assembly is to participate in plenary sessions in the National Assembly hall. "It is just an excuse to justify their escape from the National Assembly. They don't have anything to say or an excuse; that's why they say they go on business trips," says Arpi Davoyan and reminds us how Hayk Mamijanyan, the current leader of the "Pativ Unem" faction, voted against the PACE resolution welcoming democratic progress in Armenia. Davtyan is sure that the parliamentary opposition has a problem with being in the parliament hall.
It should be noted that today the "Armenia" faction representatives participated only during NA announcements and gave a speech.
