"Iran considers the security of Armenia and the region to be its security," Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian announced at the opening of the Consulate General of Iran in Kapan.
According to him, Iran's policy is to respect the territorial integrity and internationally recognized borders. "With the efforts of my colleagues from the Iranian consulate in Yerevan and Kapan, we will work further to develop trade and economic relations between the two countries. The Syunik region is one of the most important parts of the "North-South." We consider Armenia one of the important countries on the "North-South" highway, and we will do our best to develop further this transit route, as well as cargo and passenger transportation along this route," he said.
