"As it is known, the World Armenian Summit will be held in Yerevan on October 28-31.
The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and the Catholicos of Cilicia at the House of the Great said yesterday that they do not see the Church's participation in the summit as appropriate for several reasons.
Among the reasons, the absence of influential figures of one of the traditional parties from the list of invitees is especially emphasized.
Who could have imagined that at this fateful moment, when the continuity of Armenia's statehood is threatened, the thrones of the two cardinal chairs of the Armenian Apostolic Church could refuse to participate in the World Armenian Summit just because Dashnaktsutyun, the confederate Papazyan, and others will not participate in it?
A church that was silent when the heads of state were being shot in the Armenian parliament.
A church that had not taken off its cover for years when freedom-loving citizens were shot in the center of Yerevan, beaten, and criminally imprisoned.
A church has never once raised its voice regarding flagrant illegalities and total violations of freedoms and rights.
The church, part of the political struggle demanding the current government's resignation from the end of 2020, refuses to participate in the World Armenian Summit.
Today, our people need a church that voices them.
The agitated environment created around Armenia has objectively increased the chances of those subjects who have the intention of swallowing even the remaining crumbs of Armenian sovereignty.
Suppose there are no solutions compatible with mutual agreements within Armenia, the Armenian people. In that case, these solutions will not only be quickly found outside, but perhaps they are ready outside and are waiting for their time in Armenia.
All those forces, regardless of status, whose logic of action will bring that hour closer, will be equally responsible for it.
The collective Diaspora or those who act on its behalf could define the goal of modernization of Armenia: to create and develop armed forces, a functional chain of science, economy, production, and politics.
These are priorities for today's Armenia and the Armenian people, regardless of whether it is war or peace.

In that case, the responsibility for its consequences is not only the political power of Armenia but also the Armenian Church, the Mother See of St. Etchmiadz, and the Catholicos of Cilicia in the House of Mets and their thrones."
