On October 13, RA Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan participated in the online meeting of the Senior Officials of the Eastern Partnership of the European Union, which was also attended by representatives of the European Commission, European External Action Service, EU member states and partner states at the level of Deputy Foreign Ministers.
In his speech, Paruyr Hovhannisyan noted that the latest geopolitical developments had created severe challenges in the Eastern Partnership region, under which the European security architecture is also changing. He pointed out that the member states of the European Union and the Eastern partner states should make efforts to preserve the existing achievements and give new content to the Eastern Partnership format.
The deputy minister also referred to the recent large-scale aggression of Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of Armenia, noting that such a way of working of the EaP member country radically contradicts the values and principles declared at the time of the creation of the EaP. Paruyr Hovhannisyan noted that Europe's security could not be comprehensive without respect for human rights and democratic values.
