We are on the side of Armenia and the Armenian people. statement of the Swiss parliamentarians

Swiss parliamentarians Stefan Müller-Alternate (Centre Party) and Michel Mather (Green Liberals), accompanied by the secretary general of the Switzerland-Armenia parliamentary group, are in Armenia to condemn the military aggression unleashed by Azerbaijan against Armenia on September 13, 2022.

Azerbaijan is entirely responsible and guilty of the latest incident. Therefore, his attack violates international law and is a crime that the international community must unequivocally condemn. Swiss parliamentarians emphasize that Armenia
territorial integrity is an inviolable basis for stable peace in the region.

The international community should immediately and without hesitation show its place to the aggressor nation and work for the peace and defense of Armenia. Moreover, the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh has the right to self-determination. Since Soviet times, the self-determination of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh, and more recently, their existence, are under complete threat.

It is unacceptable that the political assimilation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is ignored by the international community and denied by Azerbaijan. After decades of ethnic intolerance and fierce racial hatred against Armenians, it is impossible to imagine Nagorno Karabakh coming under Azerbaijani rule. The indescribable brutality and inhumane criminal acts against the captured Armenian soldiers were filmed and proudly published on social networks with the apparent intent to commit terrorism. These are documented war crimes and barbarism cases and must be condemned and punished by international justice.

The delegation's visit to Armenia proves that Switzerland is on the side of democracy and human rights and strives to protect the Armenian nation from dictatorship and oppression. Armenia has taken conscious steps towards democracy and freedom of speech, thus adhering to the same values as Switzerland. Switzerland bears a special responsibility as a country, keeping the Geneva Conventions tradition as an important international trade center. The efforts of the Switzerland-Armenia parliamentary group aim to ensure that weapons financed by Switzerland cannot threaten Armenia's territorial integrity and rights and that the uncivilized actions of autocrats and tyrants in Europe are not accepted.
