On October 14, the meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan took place in Astana.
The parties discussed the process of implementation of the agreements reached by the tripartite statements of November 9, 2020, January 11, 2021, and November 26, which referred to the work being done in the framework of the border demarcation and border security commissions, in the direction of unblocking economic ties and transport infrastructures in the region.
During the meeting, ideas were exchanged on developing the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.
Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the need to withdraw Azerbaijani troops from the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia, the immediate release of all Armenian prisoners of war, and the unconditional maintenance of the ceasefire regime. The introduction of international mechanisms for monitoring and controlling the border situation was highlighted to prevent new aggressions.
