NA Speaker Alen Simonyan spoke to journalists today about the possibility of signing a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the possible mention of the status of Artsakh in it.
According to Simonyan. "I don't think that there should be such a reference because, first of all, it can create a mirror claim and desire. Secondly, Armenia has never had a territorial claim to Azerbaijan, and the emphasis on territories will only complicate and, perhaps, make the possible agreement to be concluded useless. It is my personal opinion that such a thing should not be done."
He answered the question, "Then what will happen to Artsakh?" "We propose to Artsakh that Artsakh should be involved and is involved in all discussions, and Armenia should be maximally involved in these discussions; because there was an option where Armenia and Artsakh, as such, were separated, we did not go for that option."
