The government intends to abandon the holding of three-month meetings. Instead, as RA Defense Minister Suren Papikyan informed, the gatherings are becoming 25-day. "A citizen goes through training for 7 days and performs combat duty 14 days."
According to him, the order will soon be in charge, and the upcoming gatherings will be 25 days long. "And it will be mandatory for all armed citizens of RA." The minister also informed that the citizens would be allowed to choose the meeting date.
RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also announced that the reserve army had not been invited to three-month gatherings for a very long time, and they decided to implement a policy of three-month groups. "In the meantime, it was problematic because people were working. We decided to invite people who didn't have a job, thereby solving a social problem, because the participants of the three-month meeting are also paid. Still, later we concluded it was ineffective and decided to make it one month and mandatory for everyone."
